The Legacy of Pierce Roofing

A Name in the Colorado Roofing Industry Since 1977

Pierce Roofing’s story began in 1977 when Gary Pierce moved his wife and three sons from San Diego to Colorado Springs in search of a fresh start. After leaving the California real estate business, Gary partnered with a friend to start a small roofing company called Cedarline Roofing. At that time, asphalt shingles weren’t standard like they are today, so Cedarline specialized in installing wood shake roofs. Gary spent years working on roofs and eventually brought his sons—Brian, Jeff, and Jeremy—into the trade. They began helping their father at a young age, starting as early as 13 years old. Through those early years, the boys learned the value of hard work and craftsmanship by working side-by-side with their dad.

As they grew older, the brothers stayed in the trades. Jeremy eventually focused on framing, while Brian and Jeff continued working in roofing. After many years installing residential and commercial roofs together, Brian decided to branch out and start his own company. In 2005, Brian and his wife Karen founded Brian Pierce Roofing.

The business truly started from the ground up. Brian would install roofs during the day with his crew and then bid new work at night. Brian and Karen ran the company out of their home while steadily building their reputation through hard work and quality craftsmanship.

Over time, the company continued to grow. They were eventually able to move into their own building, expand their staff, and run multiple roofing crews. As the business evolved, Pierce Roofing also added a metal fabrication shop, investing in machines and equipment that allowed them to keep more of their work in house. Throughout that growth, the company has remained focused on what it was built on from the beginning—great customer service and high-quality workmanship.

The next generation of the Pierce family joined the business in 2014 when Brian’s son became involved right after high school. Sam helped modernize the company by introducing computerized estimating and commercial project management, which played a major role in expanding Pierce Roofing’s commercial division. In 2021, Sam stepped into the role of CEO as Brian and Karen began transitioning into retirement.

Today, Sam works alongside his brothers Shain and Cole to continue building the company their family started. Shain serves as an experienced roofing project manager and managing member of the business. Cole leads the gutter division as the company’s head gutter installer. Together, the brothers carry on the values their father and grandfather instilled in them—hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing the job right.

Today, Pierce Roofing has a team of around 20 staff members who manage both residential and commercial roofing and gutter projects. Even with that growth, the company has stayed true to its roots, maintaining the same family-operated, small-business feel it started with. The Pierce family is proud to continue serving the Colorado Springs community they’ve called home for nearly 50 years.
